An Abuja Chief Magistrate’s Court has summoned social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to appear on March 13 over allegations of criminal defamation against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
The summons comes after Chinwo accused VDM of making damaging claims on social media, alleging that she misappropriated $345,000 linked to her former record label boss, Eezee Tee. Chinwo has denied the accusations and provided evidence to refute them.
Her legal team has filed a criminal complaint, citing breaches of the Penal Code and Cybercrime Act. Additionally, she has filed a N1.1 billion defamation lawsuit against VDM, seeking the removal of the alleged defamatory posts, a public apology, and a retraction of his statements.
