Shops in Aba’s Ariaria International, Eziukwu, and Tenant Road markets previously investigated and cleared of selling unwholesome drugs and other consumables will reopen today under the supervision of NAFDAC.
The Chief Press Secretary to Abia State Governor Ukoha Njoku Ukoha announced this in a press release Tuesday night, noting that the decision followed an extensive discussion between Governor Otti and NAFDAC officials.
The reopening ceremony will be led by the Director of NAFDAC’s South-East Zone. However, any establishments found to be involved in illicit activities will remain closed until the responsible parties are brought to justice.
The release emphasized that the Abia State Government is committed to eradicating the sale of counterfeit, adulterated, and expired drugs, and will continue to collaborate with NAFDAC to ensure the safety of its citizens.
