CAC Launches AI-Driven Portal for Instant Business Registration
Game-Changer for Nigerian Entrepreneurs
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence-powered registration portal, designed to revolutionize the company registration process in Nigeria.
Announced by Registrar-General and CEO, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, during the 2025 Stakeholders’ Forum, the AI-driven portal aims to eliminate long delays and significantly improve the ease of doing business nationwide.
Magaji described the platform as a “game-changer”, emphasizing that business registration timelines have now been slashed to under 30 minutes.
Instant Name Approval, NIN-Based Registration
According to the Commission, the new system allows for:
Instant name reservation approvals, with AI-generated suggestions.
Real-time National Identification Number (NIN) verification for directors or proprietors.
Automatic generation and email delivery of incorporation certificates within 30 minutes once NIN is successfully verified.
“It’s as simple as opening an email account,” Magaji said. “This platform uses AI to bypass traditional bottlenecks and even suggests alternative business names if your preferred one is taken.”
AI-Powered Contingency and Two-Factor Security
To mitigate delays from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), a backup facial ID-matching system has been built into the portal to validate identity through AI.
Security has also been upgraded. A two-factor authentication (2FA) system with OTP verification is being introduced to ensure that no changes can be made to company records without the knowledge and consent of registered directors.
CAC Mobile App and Fee Review Incoming
Magaji also announced the development of a CAC mobile application, set to launch in Q4 of 2025, enabling users to track and manage registrations on the go.
Additionally, starting August 1, 2025, the Commission will review its service fees to align with improved services and operational reforms.
Expanding Partnerships and Industry Support
The CAC is currently reviewing over 100 partnership requests from both local and international super agents, including the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), aimed at expanding access and service delivery.

A CAC technical team was also on-site to address user complaints and provide real-time solutions to registration challenges.
