Breaking: Kano governor Abba Yusuf dumps NNPP, rejoins APC

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after dumping the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The development comes barely three days after he resigned from the NNPP, citing prolonged internal crises and legal disputes that, according to him, weakened the party’s cohesion nationwide.

Yusuf’s decision follows a major political shake-up in the Kano State legislature, where top lawmakers have also defected to the APC.

Earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, his Deputy, Muhammad Butu-Butu, the Majority Leader, Lawan Hussain, and 19 other lawmakers officially left the NNPP for the ruling party.

The mass defection is expected to significantly strengthen the APC’s political grip in Kano State and reshape the state’s political landscape.
