Celebrity Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has issued a cease and desist letter to social media critic VeryDarkMan, demanding that he stop using the name “Ratel.”
Blord disclosed the action in a now trending Instagram post, saying he has officially trademarked “Ratel” as his business brand name and will no longer allow its use without his consent.
Blord claims ownership of “Ratel” brand
In a public statement shared on his Instagram story, Blord said his legal team has been instructed to formally notify VeryDarkMan to stop using the name.
“I have directed my SAN to issue a cease and desist to VDM to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel’. He will have to get an approval from me henceforth before using that name Ratel,” Blord wrote.
The development has since generated mixed reactions across social media platforms, with supporters of both men debating the legality and motive behind the move.
Feud between Blord and VeryDarkMan
The dispute is the latest episode in the ongoing public feud between the two figures, which began in October 2025.
VeryDarkMan, a popular online critic, had travelled to China to assist Nigerian business owners in sourcing cheaper goods and suppliers. During the trip, he accused Blord of business fraud and overpricing modified gadgets.
The conflict escalated after VeryDarkMan allegedly petitioned the police to investigate Blord’s business practices, further deepening tensions between both parties.
“Ratel” and online identity
“Ratel” is the name VeryDarkMan uses to describe his loyal online supporters, a label that has become widely associated with his social media activism and following.
Blord’s move to restrict the use of the name now adds a legal dimension to a dispute that has largely played out on social media.
