Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has released an emotional video accusing a man she identified as Emmanuel Davis of pirating her movie and uploading it on YouTube, an act she said led to the demonetization of her content.
In the video, Ademoye, who was visibly crying, addressed the man directly, saying he took her movie and uploaded it on his YouTube channel without permission.
She said:
“You stole my movie and uploaded it on YouTube. YouTube has now demonetized my work because of you.”
The actress also alleged that the same individual extracted the soundtrack from the movie and uploaded it on music streaming platforms.
“You took the soundtrack from my movie and put it on Spotify and other digital platforms,” she said.
Ademoye repeatedly described the movie as her livelihood, explaining that the alleged actions have affected her income and hard work.
“This is my livelihood. This is how I feed. This is my work,” she said in the video.
She questioned why creators’ work is repeatedly taken without permission and appealed for help, saying piracy is destroying filmmakers.
“We work so hard, and people just take our work and make money from it. This is not fair,” she added.
As of the time of filing this report, the man named in the video has not responded publicly to the allegation, and neither YouTube nor Spotify has issued a statement on the claims. The situation remains a developing story.
