Renowned Afrobeats singer and actor, Banky W, has opened up about the challenges he and his wife, Adesua Etomi, faced while trying to conceive.
The couple struggled for four years after their wedding, enduring multiple failed attempts at IVF and the emotional toll that came with it. Banky W revealed that each time his wife’s period arrived, it brought immense sorrow, leading to tears, depression, and frustration.
“We did IVF three times, and it didn’t work. We spent so much money, yet nothing changed. People mocked us—family members, friends, even society at large. Some cruelly labeled my wife ‘barren,’ and it pained me to see how much it affected her,” he shared.
At a turning point, Banky W encouraged his wife to let go of the pressure and trust in God’s timing. “I told Adesua, ‘I don’t care if the child comes today, next year, in ten years, or never. Let’s just love each other and trust God.’”
Not long after surrendering their worries, the couple conceived naturally. Now a proud father of two, Banky W shares his story as a testament to faith and perseverance. “Whatever you’re seeking, seek God first, and it will come,” he concluded.
