Nigeria international Ademola Lookman was welcomed at his first Atletico Madrid training session on Tuesday, following his transfer from Italian side Atalanta.
As part of the club’s traditional initiation, players formed two lines while Lookman entered the training ground and received friendly slaps from teammates in a lighthearted welcome ritual.
The 28-year-old joined Atletico Madrid on Monday after an impressive season with Atalanta in Serie A. Lookman returns to La Liga, where he previously featured for Valencia and Levante, bringing experience and attacking versatility to Diego Simeone’s squad.
Atletico Madrid are preparing for Thursday night’s Copa del Rey quarter-final against Real Betis, where Lookman will be looking to make his debut for the club.
