2Baba Appointed as Technical Adviser on Entertainment, Community Outreach by Benue Governor

Nigerian music icon Innocent Ujah Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has been appointed as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach by the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

The announcement was made on Wednesday during 2Baba’s visit to the Benue State Government House in Makurdi. Governor Alia praised the legendary artist for his continued support and endorsement ahead of the 2027 elections, noting that the singer’s influence and experience make him an ideal fit for the new advisory role.

“Once you say 2Face, people start dancing, even without you singing,” the governor said, highlighting 2Baba’s impact in the entertainment industry. He added, “It will not be out of place at all to give you more responsibility because you have the capacity to help us chart the way forward, improve lives, and contribute from your wisdom.”

Born in Jos and hailing from the Idoma ethnic group in Benue, 2Baba has not only made waves as a multi-award-winning musician but has also led several initiatives focused on youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and community development through his 2Baba Foundation.

With this new appointment, he is expected to leverage his extensive network and cultural influence to boost entertainment, drive positive social campaigns, and deepen government-community engagement across Benue State.
