Lamido Open to Any Coalition Against APC
Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has declared his willingness to align with any political coalition that seeks to remove President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in the 2027 general elections.
Lamido made this known during an interview on Arise TV, stating that the current administration lacks competence and is deeply dividing the country along ethnic and regional lines.

“I’ll Join Any Arrangement to End This Government”
A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lamido emphasized that party affiliations or political labels will not stop him from supporting a united front against what he described as a government “not meant for Nigerians.”
“I am part of any arrangement, no matter its nomenclature, to remove this government of incompetence, insecurity, that is dividing Nigeria firmly between north and south, out of power,” Lamido said.
“I will go into any arrangement for that purpose. I will be part of any configuration if it is going to remove this government from power.”
All Democratic Alliance Emerges Ahead of 2027
Opposition Leaders Form New Coalition
Lamido’s comments come shortly after the formation of a new political movement, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), which aims to challenge APC dominance in the 2027 elections.
The ADA is reportedly being spearheaded by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai, bringing together influential voices from Nigeria’s opposition parties.
Although Lamido has not officially joined the ADA, his remarks signal a broader movement within the opposition to forge a unified political front ahead of the next presidential race.

Accusations of Ethnic Division and Oppression
Lamido did not mince words as he accused the Tinubu-led administration of weaponizing state institutions to suppress dissent and manipulate the political space.
“This government is not for Nigerians. It is for the APC. The use of state institutions to coerce, control, and divide has reached dangerous levels,” he warned.
The former governor’s statement adds to a growing list of criticisms against the Tinubu government, particularly on issues of national unity, security, and governance.
