APC Unfazed by Opposition Coalition Talks Ahead of 2027 Elections – Uzodimma
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has dismissed concerns over recent meetings among opposition leaders, asserting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains confident ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, Uzodimma reaffirmed the party’s position while overseeing the signing of an agreement between the APC National Working Committee and Tunmef Global Limited for a digital membership registration exercise. The initiative aims to create a comprehensive and updated database of party members.
Meanwhile, findings indicate that key opposition figures are exploring coalition possibilities. On Monday, former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar met behind closed doors in Abeokuta with ex-governors Liyel Imoke (Cross River) and Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto). Similarly, former Kano State Governor and NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso held talks with ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola, fueling speculation about 2027 election strategies.
Despite these developments, Uzodimma insisted the APC remains unshaken, stating that Nigerians will ultimately decide the party’s fate at the polls.
